PROFICIENCY SCHEMES - WHERE COLLABORATIVE STUDIES LIVE
Every study hosted on the EPT platform has its own page in this area.
Each page is opened by a project organiser, developed as the study progresses,
and remains the property of the organiser - from the first presentation of
the project to the collection of results.
Some studies are open for participation. Some are collecting data. Some are
closed, and their public conclusions are available.
And some - covered by
confidentiality agreements - are not listed at all.
Participating in a study: free, anonymous, ISO-documented
Participation in EPT collaborative studies is free of charge. Choose an open study from the catalogue below, register once, and receive your PIN: from that moment, every interaction — including data upload — happens through the PIN alone, in complete anonymity
At the end of the study you receive your individual report, prepared in accordance with ISO 13528 and the documentation requirements of ISO/IEC 17043 — usable as evidence of competence for accreditation purposes.
Public laboratories, control authorities and institutions are welcome: the anonymity of the platform is designed precisely to let you contribute with complete scientific freedom.
Opening a project: your page, your study, your dossier
When you own a project on the EPT platform, a dedicated page is created in this area. You own it and you shape it: you decide how it is organised, what it presents, and how it evolves as the study advances.
A typical project page grows through four stages:
- Presentation. Your page introduces the study to potential participants: the scientific question, the samples, and the timeline.
- Protocol. The tailor-made statistical protocol - designed with our specialists in accordance with ISO 13528 - is published on your page.
- Data collection. The page becomes the anonymous data-collection interface for participating laboratories, managed by the platform’s registered software.
- Results. You receive the complete dossier - robust statistics, real measurement uncertainty, interpretation, and suggestions for use - and you decide which conclusions, if any, are published on your page.
Studies covered by confidentiality agreements follow the same path - without ever appearing in the public catalogue.

Select the test you want to take part in. Click on “Test Description” and register for the test. You can download the documentation regarding the protocol and the xls file to be filled in with the final results.
You will receive the sample to perform the analyses in a couple of days. Once you will have completed the tests, fill in the file and upload it on the website The PIN will be issued and visualised online on screen only once, after you have sent the xls file with the test data. The page with the PIN must be printed and kept by the participant, because once the PIN has been visualised, it won’t be possible to retrieve it. Want to know more?
